The Redstone American Grill is an upscale, local favorite that features scrumptious seafood, chicken, and steaks. Don't miss other strip centers that are contiguous that include Dick's Sporting Goods, Whole Foods, Toy R Us, Byerly's, Super Target, Best Buy, Office Max, and the 394 automobile row of Sears (Mercedes), Ford, BMW, Chevy, Lexus, Nissan and more.
You'll find the Glen Lake area of Minnetonka (Excelsior Blvd & Williston Rd) to be great neighborhood shopping featuring Kowalskis, The Gold Nugget, Unmapped Brewery, many convenience stores and The Copper Cow, coming in 2018.
Another charming area is Minnetonka Mills (Minnetonka Blvd & Plymouth Rd) with its rich history of the Burwell House, Burwell School, the mill that was on Minnehaha Creek, the old City Hall, and right on one of the regional bike trails. It includes a coffee shop, local gift store, Dairy Queen, and Bennis Food & Fuel.
Ty Abel's Corners (Minnetonka Blvd & County Rd 101) has a great history as a gateway to Lake Minnetonka. A quaint shopping area with Spasso and Snuffy's Restaurants, Caribou Coffee, Ace Hardware, Lifetime Fitness, Leighton's Garage, Lakewinds Natural Foods, and a short walk to Counselor Realty Deephaven Office. Groveland Elementary is part of this vibrant shopping area.
7 HI (Highway 7 & County Rd 101) has been know as the corner because of the history of the long gone drive in theater & shopping center. They have been replaced and expanded to include a Super Target, Cub Foods, Caribou Coffee, MGM Liquors, Walgreen Drug, Northern Tool and many more retail establishments. Pick up quick stuff to eat at the DQ, Subway, Wendy's or Arby's plus the great restaurant of Old Chicago with over 100 beer choices.
Several other small shopping areas are at Cedar Lake Rd & Hopkins Crossroads where there are great eating establishments for ribs, deli, pizza, and more. Check out the local bike shop. Also the Opus area at County Rd 62 and Shady Oak have many great restaurants including Campiello, Jimmy's, Scoreboard, and Woody's. I think this has the two closest Caribou Coffees in the USA, they look at each other.
Parks and Recreation
The city of Minnetonka has five community parks, 44 small neighborhood parks, and forty miles of trails for running, walking, and bicycling. The city also constructs and operates a number of hockey and ice-skating rinks in the winter. The City Hall (Minnetonka Blvd & Williston Rd) have access to Minnehaha Creek, a band shell, two indoor hockey rinks and a city health club. Some of the large Minnetonka parks are Lone Lake Park, Shady Oak Beach Park, Big Willow Park (great ballfields & soccer),Glen Lake Golf & Practice Center, Kelly Gardens Park, Jidana Park, and Gro Tonka Park. Many of the parks have tennis courts, walking paths, biking trails, ballfields, sliding hills and more great fun. Approximately 10 miles north of Minnetonka in Plymouth lies the Three Rivers Park District, which features a variety of exciting activities, including: cross country skiing, downhill skiing, golf, disc golf, horseback riding, and more. Gray’s Bay Marina allows boat access to Lake Minnetonka and as a resident of Minnetonka you can get on a list for a boat slip. Lake Minnetonka is a change of lakes and bays with over 110 miles of shoreline.

Median house price in 2011 were $233,000 with 2% of the sales new construction and 35% condos & townhouses.
Schools, Health, Transportation
The children of Minnetonka are served by three separate school districts: the Hopkins School District, the Minnetonka School District, and the Wayzata School District.
The North Memorial Clinic, located near the Ridgedale Center, offers a variety of medical services to the area, including: laboratory tests, x-rays, minor surgeries, check-ups, and more. The Park Nicollet Clinic offers medical care and urgent care services in 45 different medical specialties with one at Interstate 394 & Carlson Parkway. Closest area hospitals are Methodist, North Memorial, and Fairview Southdale.
Minnetonka residents can ride around town and into downtown Minneapolis on the Metro Transit bus system. Park-and-ride lots are located along I-394 within the Minnetonka city limits. Domestic and international travelers fly out of the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, just 20 minutes from Minnetonka.
